Nolan caps Wild comeback as Minnesota tops Chicago in SO

Guillaume Latendresse scored twice while Marek Zidlicky, Kim Johnsson and Mikko Koivu each lit the lamp for the Wild, who rallied from four goals down in the third period to win their second straight game. Niklas Backstrom started in net, but was pulled after the second period as he gave up five goals on 12 shots. Josh Harding spent the rest of the game between the pipes and stopped all 13 shots he faced and seven attempts in the shootout.

"It's a great feeling to come back and win a game like this," said Latendresse. "You don't do that very often so it's exciting. We've got a lot of hockey ahead of us and this is a good start."

Marian Hossa, Patrick Sharp, Jonathan Toews, Troy Brouwer and Kris Versteeg each had a goal for the Blackhawks, who had a five-game winning streak stopped. Cristobal Huet made 16 saves in the loss.

"It's tough to take, but that's what happens when you let them comeback," said Versteeg. "They had all the momentum in the third period and we didn't do anything to get it back. We had to bear down and we just couldn't seem to do that."

In the eighth round, Nolan skated in on net and buried a wrister into the right corner of the net. John Madden's low backhander was then stopped by Harding to complete the comeback win.

Trailing by four goals in the third period, Minnesota erupted for three goals in a 2:05 span to get back into the contest.

Johnsson got things started at the 6:44 mark of the frame with his sixth goal of the year and Koivu scored on a wrister just 45 seconds later, his 12th goal of the year.

Zidlicky then made it a one-goal game as his slap shot blew past Huet for a power-play goal at the 8:49 mark of the frame.

Latendresse's second goal of the game with 1:33 to play completed the Wild comeback and made it a 5-5 game.

The Blackhawks scored just 1:22 into the contest as Brian Campbell sent a pass from the right boards over to the left circle, where Sharp one-timed the puck home.

Minnesota got the goal back four minutes later on a Latendresse wrister, his 10th goal of the season.

However, Chicago took the lead back midway through the first on Toews' 14th goal of the season and made it a 3-1 game at the 14:55 mark on a Versteeg wrister that beat Backstrom.

Chicago took a 4-1 lead with 9:14 left in the second as Patrick Kane sent a pass over to the right circle, where a flying Brouwer wristed it home.

With 2:25 to play in the second, Hossa tallied a shorthanded goal to give the Blackhawks a 5-1 lead.

Chicago hosts Anaheim on Sunday...Minnesota hosts Pittsburgh on Monday...Chicago has taken two of the three games against Minnesota this season...Both teams went 1-for-2 on the power play in the game.
